Preparation of Paschal Foods at Home

March 29, 2020 by Taylor

Glory to Jesus Christ!  Glory Forever!

As you prepare yourself (and your family) for the celebration of the Resurrection of Christ, you may also be preparing for the feast with food and drinks.  Attached to this email you will find a summary of how to prepare a traditional Easter Basket.  We have also included a recipe for preparing a family size paska at home. (The recipe is a combination of recipes from family, churches and the internet as well as trial and error created by parishioner Megan Winter.  Please note that it is difficult to find flour and yeast in the stores at this time, so you may need to “shop around”.)

The Altar Society is saddened about the cancellation of the Easter Baked Goods Sale.  You can still receive/purchase fresh kielbasa from Father Michael.  Please call the rectory at 206-329-9219 to set up a pick-up time.

Be sure to continue monitoring your emails for announcements regarding upcoming liturgical events and information from Father Michael about confessions.  We also encourage you to take advantage of submitting your tithes electronically.  This will reduce the need for postage and comes at no cost to you – https://stjohnchrysostom.org/one-time-donation/ (be sure to include the number of your assigned weekly envelopes to ensure donation credit for tax purposes).

Please continue to pray and worship in your homes.  We invite you to join us as we celebrate WITH you via YouTube and https://stjohnchrysostom.org/live-and-recorded-liturgical-services-streams/
